Public disclosure notice — This data is compiled from publicly available sources.

Under Tanzanian DSE rules, anyone acquiring more than 5% of a listed company’s shares must disclose within 7 days. Holdings above 20% require annual disclosure.

  • Share trades: Settled on T+3 via the Central Securities Depository. Acquisitions above 5% must be disclosed to the company in writing within 7 days.
  • Bond trades: Individual bond deals are not subject to the same 5% threshold; ownership is tracked by the Bank of Tanzania or DSE but is generally private.
  • Beneficial ownership: Since 2021, all companies must declare ultimate beneficial owners to BRELA within 30 days of any change (Companies Act, GN No. 478 of 2023).
  • Public searches: Anyone can run a BRELA company search for a small fee (~TZS 2,000) to obtain filed documents including shareholder lists.
  • Annual reporting: Public Interest Entities must publish audited financial statements on their websites within 30 days of approval.
