NHIF Director General Dr Irene Isaka said the Fund's financial position improved from a deficit of Sh112 billion to a surplus of Sh225 billion by the end of FY2024/25, with its medical loss ratio dropping from 112% to 69%, positioning the Fund — a major institutional shareholder of Mwalimu Commercial Bank — to roll out Universal Health Insurance nationwide from January 2026.
