Appointed Director General of Tanzania's National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) by President Samia Suluhu Hassan in August 2024, succeeding acting DG Grace Temba. An economist by training with a PhD from the University of Dar es Salaam, she previously led the East and Central Africa Social Security Association and held senior roles at Stanbic Bank Tanzania. NHIF is a major institutional shareholder of Mwalimu Commercial Bank (MCB).
