Tanzania Gold Production Reaches 67.8 Tonnes Worth TZS 18.4 Trillion in FY2025/26

• Tanzania produced 67.8 tonnes of gold valued at TZS 18.4 trillion during the 2025/26 financial year.
• A total of 28,701 kilograms of gold were sold through the country’s five domestic gold refineries.
• The Bank of Tanzania purchased 21,710 kilograms of gold, which is 75.64% of the refined output.
• The figures were presented by the Commissioner for Minerals, Dr. Abdulrahman Mwanga, to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy and Minerals on 11th August 2026.
• The Minister for Minerals, Hon. Anthony Mavunde, announced extended operating hours for mineral markets until 9:00 p.m. to facilitate business.
