Tanga Region Positioned as Major Energy Hub for East Africa

• DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA ania and Uganda have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the energy sector, a move expected to position Tanga Region as a major energy hub for the East African region.
• The project is also expected to position Tanga as a strategic gateway for the energy business, serving Tanzania, Uganda and other East African countries, while supporting regional economic integration and long-term.
• The agreement is expected to strengthen bilateral and regional cooperation in the energy sector by promoting investment, improving energy storage and distribution infrastructure, and enhancing cross-border energy trade.
