Proposal to Designate Road Connecting Dar es Salaam Port and Kurasini Logistics Park as Customs Bonded Road

• The Kurasini Logistics Park is expected to start operating as an extension of the Dar es Salaam Port from November 2023.
• The government aims to reduce congestion at the port and improve cargo handling efficiency by using Kurasini as a port extension.
• Cargo inspection, clearance, and other government services will be conducted at Kurasini Logistics Park.
• The Minister for Transport, Prof. Makame Mbarawa, has proposed designating the road connecting the port and Kurasini as a Customs Bonded Road.
• The Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) has been directed to collaborate with TARURA, TANROADS, and municipal authorities for the road's designation.
