Potential Reduction of Referee Hesitation with FVS

TLDR

• The Football Video Support (FVS) system has been introduced in the NBC Tanzania Premier League to assist referees in reviewing controversial incidents.
• FVS has already influenced disciplinary decisions involving players from teams such as Simba SC, Pamba Jiji, and Azam FC.
• Former Taifa Stars player Steven Nemes emphasized that players must adapt to the presence of FVS and maintain discipline on the field.
• Nemes noted that FVS should complement referees' judgment rather than replace it, ensuring fair application of the laws of the game.
• The introduction of FVS aims to reduce disputes and enhance confidence in refereeing by scrutinizing incidents equally, regardless of the teams involved.
