Launch of Technical Training Programme for Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) in Tanzania

• The workshop was opened on Tuesday by TBS Director of Standards Development Dr. Kandida Shirima on behalf of TBS Director General Dr. Ashura Katunzi.
• The standards are designed to phase out sub-standard electrical appliances from the domestic supply chain and support national energy sustainability.
• Dr. Shirima emphasized that the standards align with the National Development Vision 2025, which aims for a strong, competitive, and sustainable economy.
