Improving Food Safety and Revenue Collection through Food Business Registration

• SINGIDA: THE Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) has called on councils in Singida Region to accelerate the registration of food business activities, including small-scale vendors and producers of unpackaged foods.
• The move is aimed at strengthening food safety and boosting revenue collection by local government authorities.
• The meeting was officiated by the Acting Regional Administrative Secretary, Mr Boaz Kajigili, who underscored the need for close cooperation among government institutions to ensure food business operations comply with.
• Government institutions must work closely to ensure food businesses are managed in accordance with set standards and procedures,” Mr Kajigili said.
