Community Involvement in Polio Vaccination Campaign for Children Under 10

TLDR

• The Dar es Salaam region, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, will conduct a polio vaccination campaign for children under 10 from August 27 to August 30, 2023, as the first phase.
• The second phase of the vaccination campaign is scheduled to take place from September 29 to October 2, 2023.
• The campaign aims to reach over 1.3 million children in the region, and community involvement is encouraged from parents, guardians, religious leaders, and teachers.
• The campaign will take place in various gathering places, including schools, markets, and places of worship, to ensure all children receive the vaccine.
• The region plans to reach approximately 3,675 primary schools, 2,651 pre-schools, 344 health facilities, and 3,274 places of worship to vaccinate children under 10.
