Tanzania's Vision 2050: Transforming Economy to 1 Trillion USD

Vision 2050, which seeks to transform the country into a high-income, industrialled economy valued at 1 trillion US dollars.

Tanzania is strengthening its engagement with the African Trade and Investment Development Insurance (ATIDI) to support private sector-led growth, as the country targets a 70% private sector contribution to the economy under its Development Vision 2050.

Her message comes at a critical time for Tanzania, whose population is projected to grow from about 67 million today to over 120 million by 2050.

The Tanzanian government has stated that the recommendations contained in the Economic Freedom Audit Report will drive policy reforms, strengthen economic freedom, and significantly contribute to Tanzania’s journey towards a strong and competitive economy by 2050.

Waziri Mkuu Dkt Mwigulu Nchemba ameyabainisha hayo leo Bungeni Dodoma wakati akiwasilisha hotuba ya mapito na mwelekeo wa kazi za Serikali, Makadirio ya mapato na matumizi ya fedha za Ofisi ya Waziri Mkuu na Ofisi ya Bunge kwa mwaka 2026/27 ambapo amesema kuwa utekelezaji wa Dira 2050 unakusudia kuifanya Tanzania kuwa na uchumi wa thamani ya dola za Marekani trilioni moja ifikapo mwaka 2050, huku wastani wa pato la mtu mmoja mmoja ukitarajiwa kufikia dola 7,000 kwa mwaka.
