  • To improve the learning environment, she said the council distributed 56,938 books to pre- primary, primary and secondary schools in January 2026 to enhance access to learning materials.

  • MWANZA: ILEMELA Municipal Council has exceeded its domestic revenue target for the 2025/26 financial year after collecting more than 101 per cent of the projected amount, enabling it to continue implementing major.
  • Ms Wayayu said the council maintained its strong academic performance in the 2025 national examinations, ranking first in Mwanza Region in the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) and the Certificate of Secondary.
  • She said the Form Four pass rate rose from 99 per cent in 2024 to 99.4 per cent in 2025, with many students attaining high grades, strengthening the council’s position among the region’s top education performers.
