Overview

Possible causes

  • Hypothalamus nerve pathway changes
  • Alcohol during a cluster period
  • Smoking
  • Sleep schedule changes
  • Genetic factors (in some)

When to see a doctor

Seek care promptly for sudden severe pain, especially a first episode, or pain with weakness/confusion.
