Ingredients
- 400 g Pasta
- 300 g Squid and prawns
- 200 g Fish fillet
- 4 Tomatoes
- 1/2 cup Coconut milk
- 1 Onion
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 3 tbsp Oil
How to cook Seafood Pasta
Pasta ya bahari mixes pasta with fish, squid and prawns in tomato-coconut sauce, popular at coastal and Dar restaurants. Evening and weekend fare. Modern dish blending Italian pasta with Tanzanian coastal flavor.
- Boil salted water, cook pasta al dente; drain reserving some cooking water.
- Cut fish, squid and prawns; pat dry.
- Fry onion and garlic in oil.
- Add tomatoes, cook to sauce.
- Add coconut milk and a little pasta water.
- Add fish and squid, cook 3 minutes.
- Add prawns last, cook 2 minutes.
- Toss pasta with sauce gently.
- Season with salt, pepper and lime.
- Serve immediately with coriander on top.
Tips
- Add prawns and squid last so they stay tender.
- Pasta water helps sauce cling to noodles.
