About the Esports Federation of Tanzania

The official governing body for competitive gaming in Tanzania.

The Esports Federation of Tanzania was officially established on 15 November 2023 under the National Sports Council Act of 1967, with registration No. 13597. Its primary goal is to develop a robust regulatory framework for esports in Tanzania with impetus from all stakeholders.

It is the governing body in Tanzania for electronic sports (esports). Its mandate includes:

Promotion and development of esports at all levels throughout Tanzania.
Maintaining affiliation and good standing with international, regional, and continental esports federations.
Promotion and enforcement of international esports regulations, and dealing with any infringement.
Establishing and enforcing rules governing esports, applied in all competitions.
Organization and management of esports events, leagues, tournaments, and championships.
Determining and enforcing disciplinary, dispute, appeal, anti-doping, and conduct procedures for members.
