The Commissioner General of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda, has said that the Authority will continue listening to and addressing challenges faced by taxpayers in order to create a conducive business environment and enhance efficiency in revenue collection.
Speaking to traders at Buzuruga Market in Mwanza, Commissioner General Mwenda said TRA recognizes the important role played by traders in contributing to the country’s development. He said the Authority will continue reaching out to taxpayers, listening to their concerns and providing clarification on various tax matters.
He emphasized the importance of taxpayers fulfilling their tax obligations accurately, including issuing and demanding valid Electronic Fiscal Device (EFD) receipts. He also encouraged traders to make use of tax education programs and services provided by TRA to gain a better understanding of tax procedures and requirements.
Commissioner General Mwenda further assured the traders that TRA will continue working closely with them to address their challenges and improve service delivery. He urged them to report any challenges or barriers they encounter in fulfilling their tax obligations so that the Authority can work towards finding appropriate solutions.
