The Humanitarian Conference 2026 is a three-day high-level convening to be held from 12 to 14 August 2026 in Zanzibar, Tanzania, under the theme "Strengthening Resilience for Health, Climate and Crisis through Energy, Innovation, Financing and Local Humanitarian Action."
Convened by the Tanzania Red Cross Society — Tanzania's leading humanitarian organisation, with over 35,000 volunteers operating across the country and a critical auxiliary role to the Government of Tanzania — the Conference brings together government leaders, development finance institutions, UN agencies, bilateral donors, banks, foundations, private sector innovators, local NGOs, and civil society for three days of structured programming, partnership roundtables, and concrete commitment-making.
The Conference is built around three thematic pillars: health system resilience, climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction, and humanitarian financing and local action. A dedicated Partnership and Deal Room, a Humanitarian Financing Dialogue, and a Fundraising Dinner on the opening evening are designed to move beyond dialogue toward signed partnerships, funded programmes, and a nationally owned post-conference Delivery Roadmap with clear milestones and accountability mechanisms.
Expected outcomes include at least ten strategic partnerships signed, USD 5–10 million in funding mobilised, three to five pilot initiatives launched, and the adoption of a High-Level Conference Declaration endorsed by all key stakeholders.
